strengthen sustainability standards systems for the benefit of people
and the environment.
The China Programme Manager is a newly-created position to support ISEAL
projects and initiatives aimed at scaling up the impacts of
sustainability standards in China. The China Program Manager will have
day-to-day responsibility for ISEAL’s activities on the ground in China.
The position will report to the Senior Policy & Outreach Manager, and
will liaise with and/or manage part-time consultants as needed and
coordinate closely with London-based ISEAL staff. While the ISEAL China
Program Manager will principally be responsible for ISEAL’s activities
in China, they will be considered an integral part of ISEAL’s Policy and
Outreach team and be expected to actively support the achievement of the
organisation’s broader objectives.
We seek a manager with in-depth knowledge of sustainability standards
and who can draw on existing relevant networks in China. The ideal
candidate will be familiar with social and environmental standards and
will be inspired by ISEAL’s goal to work towards increasing the
knowledge and uptake of sustainability standards in China. The role
requires strong experience in stakeholder relationship management and an
ability to be at ease when presenting to a high level audience. It will
suit someone who, besides the required experience and knowledge, also
thrives on working independently and will be happy to be a remote part
of the wider ISEAL team.
