Job Summary
Work with BD&L Heads and Finders, and internal stakeholders, to understand the needs for China Research and Early Development (pRED China) and Commercial Affiliate (SRPL). Triage and refer or respond to unsolicited proposals. Conduct landscape analyses, attend scientific and partnering conferences and review the scientific literature to identify opportunities that are consistent with the needs for pRED China and SRPL. Contribute scientific expertise and facilitate activities in Disease and Technology Areas.
Essential Job Functions
· Work with BD&L Heads and Finders, and internal stakeholders, to understand needs for pRED China and SRPL
· Search scientific and business development databases, and identify and summarize relevant scientific publications
· Attend scientific conferences to identify new opportunities that match our stakeholder’s criteria for innovative products and technologies
· Identify external partners working in the areas of interest to partnering teams and our internal stakeholders
· Monitor and attend public presentations and teleconferences of external companies of interest to Roche
· Develop biological target and pathway landscape analyses for areas of focus for Roche Pharma
· Screen external proposals, identify those of interest and respond to potential partners as appropriate, and
· Input opportunities into our proprietary database for tracking and monitoring.
Education
· recent completion of a Science, Medical or Pharmacy degree is required, with a PhD, MD or PharmD degree preferred
· this role could suit an MBA graduate with a strong scientific background
Experience
· understanding of pharmaceuticals, drug development and commercialization is helpful
· knowledge of drug discovery technologies, oncology, immunology, virology, neurobiology, or cardiovascular/metabolic diseases is helpful
Additional Requirements
· fluency in English and Chinese is required.
· ability to work independently with a strong drive, as well as the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams is required
· outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are required
